Orage: A Memoir,\u00a0p.105.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>A \u201cnew conception of God in the world\u201d would, necessarily, require the destruction of the old conceptions. This destruction is the stated aim of Gurdjieff in the opening pages of\u00a0\u00a0<em>All and Everything: An Objectively Impartial Criticism of the Life of Man\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Beelzebub\u2019s Tales to His Grandson:<\/em><\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>To destroy, mercilessly, without any compromises whatsoever, in the mentation and feelings of the reader, the beliefs and views, by centuries rooted in him, about everything existing in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n<cite>G.I Gurdjieff<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>In the end destruction leaves only ashes, which immediately leads to the question, \u201cWhat is put in its place?\u201d This question leads to one of the essential simultaneities contained in\u00a0<em>The Tales<\/em>.
